Morley's Final Catalogue: This central European species occurs locally up eastern England only from Hants, through Suffolk, Norfolk, Cambs and York to Cheshire, feeding on Yellow Loosestrife, patchy in Suffolk.

Recent Suffolk Status: Very rare. North-east Suffolk on the edge of the broads only.

Life history: Single-brooded.

Identification: Brown scallop is larger and has an evenly scalloped hindwing margin.

Habitat: Fens and carr woodland.

Retained Specimen / Photograph will be Required.
